Saint Pete's Dark Secret

We've been ordering coffee from this company since 2008. At first we'd go pick it up in person, just a couple pounds at the time. The beans would still be warm. In the years later we've moved a couple times but they made sure we didn't miss our St. Pete's Dark Secret a single day. Shipments straight from the roaster arrived right on time. I can't say enough good things about these people. The service is always "personal" and the coffee is roasted to perfection and is just wonderful. A few months ago when they were having some structural difficulties with the new place and had to suspend shipments, I thought I would never make it. (LOL) I had all my relatives looking for a roaster near them and tried so many different ones....BUT....NONE could compare to these guys and NO coffee compared to my St Pete's Dark Secret.

I ordered the coffee on the weekend and received it the following Saturday. I immediately ground some and made an very good shot of espresso with quite the crema on it. It is good coffee. I also took some to work and made it in the coffee pot. You could smell it from all the way down the hall.

Best coffee I’ve ever had. I’ve gotten the Saint blend for several years now and I would not change a thing. I miss it when I can’t get it and I’m extremely glad when I can.

St. Pete's Dark Secret has been part of our regular rotation for more than 10 years. I always drink my coffee black and SPDS is never harsh or bitter. Because it's so freshly roasted the flavor is always spectacular.

This rich, dark coffee is so satisfying in the morning. I love it black, and my husband loves it loaded with milk and sugar. Either way it’s smooth, never bitter, and beat of all, freshly roasted! It’s like the difference between homemade bread and store bought white bread that’s been sitting on the shelf for days. Just no comparison!

My beans were less oily this time and this resulted in my coffee being weaker and less flavorsome than I need. Sorry to say this is the first time I have been dissappointed with my St Petes Dark Secret.. I still rated 4 stars because I have always been very satisfied with my order and truely believe this is a one time event. I will definitely make another purchase and hope my SPDS is back to normal. .
