Papua New Guinea Estate – Single Origin

In the highlands of Papua New Guinea, along the fertile Wahgi River, coffee trees thrive at elevations above 5,000 feet. These trees grow beneath the shade of towering Albizzia berry trees, which naturally lend the beans their subtle fruit-like sweetness and uniquely layered character.

The history of coffee here is just as rich. In the early 20th century, Dutch planters introduced prized seedlings descended from Jamaica’s legendary Blue Mountain coffee trees. Today, many small estate farmers still cultivate these heirloom varieties. Though not certified organic, most farmers in this region can’t afford chemical inputs—and wouldn’t use them even if they could—resulting in coffee that’s as natural and unspoiled as the land itself.

We roast our Papua New Guinea to a smooth Light/Medium (Viennese/City) profile. In the cup, you’ll discover a well-balanced brew with notes of dried fruit, silky milk chocolate, and buttery toffee. The body is above average—rounded and smooth—balanced with clean acidity and a crisp, refreshing finish. Naturally lower in both caffeine and acidity than many origins, this is an easy-drinking coffee you can enjoy all day.

And, true to our promise, it’s roasted only after you order and shipped within 24 hours—so its vibrant, nuanced flavors arrive alive and ready to enjoy.

excellent beans - possible new favorite

This is my first time having PNG beans. I love sumatra and was looking to try more beans from that region. This bean is roasted much better than their sumatra (more of a medium than burnt) and makes an amazing espresso with a sumatra syrupy body and flavors. It also tastes good brewed weaker (french press) but I prefer other beans for that. This is a contender for my new favorite espresso bean though.
